I am a veteran scuba diver, based in Houston, Texas, with over 1,000 dives.  Underwater photography is not my thing, and I can’t offer a good explanation for that.  The photography is curated to reflect my current interests and style, so old posts will see changes over time.  Somebody must find it interesting, as this blog received over 1,800,000 views from more than 120 countries.  Viewers please remember this is a blog and not a portfolio.  Some photos are not going to be great as stand alone images, but do complete the story of the post.

All photographs appearing here are my original work and are copyrighted.

This blog is award free.

What distinguishes me from most other photographers is that I work in many genres.  The viewer will find  abstracts, street, event and travel photography here in both color and monochrome.  Menu buttons in the header are the easiest way to get around.  Some viewers find my photography entertaining.  Many say they enjoy the vicarious travel that they do not have the freedom to do.

      • I’ve been looking more at your pics but when I open them up for slide show it doesn’t give me the option to ‘like’. Just so you know (again), I do, particularly the colour and shape in your latest set..

  4. Your header is amazing. Am always very intimidated when a real photographer drops by my site that I almost stop tagging my posts photography. Almost. 🙂 Thanks for dropping by. We haven’t dove in years but hope to once we head further south.

  6. Firstly, hello!

I would like to say thank you for the like on one of my recent posts. Acknowledgement is always a welcomed thing in my life. Secondly, I am in love with some of your photography work. These days I have been trying to delve more into photographing people in their environment, and some of your work is really fantastic and eye-catching. A lot of street photography feels like I’m drowning, and I have a hard time focusing on the ‘main event,’ so to speak. But not yours!

With that said, I’m gonna add you. With hopes to see more and be more inspired to get myself out there. ::smiles::

    Thank you again!

  12. I really like your photographs, Ron. I have worked as an editor for National Geographic (not the magazine, other publications they are affiliated with) seen a lot of photos, you have some great shots..maybe enter an NG My Shot contest? http://yourshot.nationalgeographic.com/
Another thing that you and Kevin Hotter are making me think of… I wish some of the great photographs out there by people like you could be used to do therapy with kids. It seems like children can really benefit from art therapy and they respond to photos well. (I am not a child psychologist, just an observation.) Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Thank you for looking. I have seen art therapy practiced. In one form an artist draws at the direction of the patient.

  13. Hello Ron

I couldn’t find any contact details for you, so sorry for bringing this up here.
I saw that you liked my Indiegogo post and i think you are exactly the type of person i am looking to get on to focal elite.
Would you be interested in submitting your 10 best pictures? I have had a couple of other responses from other photographers and they had some questions first. So i will give you a quick oveview.
All your images of course will be copyrighted to you. You can either put a watermark or I will put a mark underneath(I think this is the best option as the watermark will link back to the website of your choice). Ideally my plan is to have a picture of you, your 10 best images, links to all your sites and social media. The Image resolution I would like to keep at a minimum 800×600 so people aren’t tempted to print of any images. You can send the 10 images via this email if you wish or put a link to your flickr album and I can get the images from there.

    What do you think?

    Kind regards

  16. Hi Ron, the above shot evokes memories of visiting the “Fish Hatcheries” in Cold Spring Harbor, NY. My father was fascinated with all creatures large and small. He often visited pet shops to view the parrots (which my mother would never allow him to purchase) and a frequent past time he shared with me and my three sisters was also visiting the North Shore Animal league to view the dogs up for adoption (although we always had one of our own at home). The fish hatcheries contained large pools of fish which would often pop up as we approached. Not quite as colorful as your photograph above but a nice memory of my youth nonetheless. Thanks for nostalgia! and great blog.

  20. Not So Cold

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I am glad that I could find my way back to yours. Your blog is amazing! I can easily get lost in all of your pictures. I am still very much a newbie to all of this. I don’t even have a camera (I use a clumsy-ass iPad). But it is fun to be out and discover new things or see old things in a new way. Also, I like the way you present your photos. I am still trying to figure out what works best for my blog template. I can learn much from your examples.

Thank you for sharing your work.
