The Big Island of Hawaii

I was on the Big Island of Hawaii in February.  A month after I left the earth tremors started and subsequently the volcano erupted.  Ironically, there was so little going on with the volcano during my visit that I did not bother to go see it.

Houston Gay Pride, 2017

Houston’s Gay Pride Festival was held for the second year downtown in front of City Hall in Houston.  This time the police made no attempt to keep participants out of the reflecting pool.   There were far more women there than men although I suspect the numbers reversed in the evening for the parade.  Temperatures were kept reasonable by rain and clouds making it only almost as hot as hell rather than hotter.  The girls were wilder this year than in the past with several sporting pasties.

Houston Art Car Parade 2017

Costumes have become a big part of the art car parade so here are some people in costume.

Luang Prabang, Laos

After leaving Viet Nam I spent a few days in the Luang Prabang area. Although it was fun, I would only recommend this stop if you have a lot of time.

Maui 2017 Part 2

Maui is known for its endless beaches and the volcano Haleakala.   The shot above is a stitched panorama of the crater taken from a location only accessible on the way down the mountain.

Maui 2017 Part 1

Maui is known for its endless beaches and the volcano Haleakala. This trip I didn’t bother with the twisty road to Hana.   The shot above is a stitched panorama of the crater.

Hoi An, Viet Nam

Hoi An is a 45 minute taxi ride from Da Nang.  That will cost you only $12.  At its center is an old city heavily influenced by the Chinese.  It is a major tourist destination.

The sound of roaring motorcycle engines on the Strand, mostly Harley V-Twins, is the sound of happiness.  After two rainy days the weather cleared up and all the bikers in Galveston (near Texas) were treated to a perfect day.  Lots of bikers and pretty girls here.   Thank goodness for pretty bartenders.

This is the first batch of photos, expect more over the next few days.  The girl in the pink top below is the daughter of the gal in the large photo above.

The Bay Area

These photos are from Oakland, San Francisco and Marin County, California.  Try to view the pano’s full size.

Girls love to dress up in costume for the Renaissance Festival.  Here is a selection of ladies or wenches in Renaissance period clothing, belly dance costumes, pirate, gypsy barbarian and fantasy outfits.  All were shot on October 8, 2016, opening day in Todd Mission, Texas.  The weather was ideal.
